Come dressed in your fanciest hat or bow-tie, ready to help more youth receive mental health and substance use services. Enjoy delicious southern cuisine, signature mint juleps, a silent auction, and live coverage of the 148th Kentucky Derby!
Youth in our communities are dying because of substance use; addiction is a disease that often develops during vulnerable teen years. Furthermore, those with a substance use disorder also struggle with other mental health disorders and need therapy to treat conditions simultaneously. Unfortunately, such services for youth are sparse and often do not provide comprehensive, up-to-date care. Our current system is leaving patients without the appropriate and necessary lifesaving and life-changing treatment.
Detroit STAR Clinic is a Substance Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Clinic – This new clinic based out of Children’s Hospital of Michigan will care for all youth regardless of insurance coverage or the ability to self-pay.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Your support of Derby for Kids will raise necessary funds to establish and sustain Detroit STAR Clinic, which will impact countless youth in our community. Your support will help save lives.
