About the Children’s Foundation:
The Children’s Foundation is the state’s largest funder dedicated solely to advancing the health and wellness of the children of Michigan. Through funding and advocacy dedicated to three core pillars – Community Benefit, Pediatric Research and Medical Education – the Children’s Foundation enables researchers and community organizations to identify and implement innovations capable of advancing children’s health. Our current areas of focus include mental health, nutritional wellness, abuse and neglect, oncology and cardiology research and injury prevention.
The Digital Marketing and Event Intern at the Children’s Foundation (CF) will gain valuable experience in content development, branding, communication strategies and event planning. The duration of the internship will be the length of a school year, with the potential to be extended. This intern will play an integral role as part of the marketing and communications team, partnership engagement team, and developing high-level materials to generate brand awareness for CF.

Contribute to the fulfillment of the CHMF mission and values.
Attend staff meetings and other relevant events as requested.
A proactive attitude demonstrating a desire to be creative and collaborative.
Occasional late night and/or weekend hours will be required.
Assist with creating monthly social media toolkits for fundraising partners (i.e. Healing Kids Foundation, Jamie Daniels Foundation, Leaders For Kids, and Racing For Kids)
Assist with creating content for CHMF social media
Assist with graphic design content for social – Canva and Adobe Suite
Assist with creation/editing of newsletters
Research social media marketing trends and best practices
Drive strategies to keep followers engaged
Assist with Partnership Engagement Team with Foundation events
Assist with set up and break down of events
Assist with paperwork processing, payment requests and custom sponsorship materials
Take meeting minutes at all Partnership Engagement Team meetings
Assist with mascot appearances – Handling the mascot
Donation pick up/drop off
Assist managing silent auction items
Attend site visits
Conduct after event survey calls
Volunteer and attend events (Healing Kids Foundation, Paul W. Smith Golf Classic, Racing For Kids, Leaders For Kids)
Front desk assistance
General office work (mass mailings, completing invoices, etc.)
Currently enrolled as a college sophomore or junior in marketing, communications or related concentrations
Interns will be compensated at an hourly rate for an average of 20 hours per week. The internship will be from August – May.
