The Children’s Foundation is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Gift Processing and Donor Stewardship Associate to join its team. The Foundation works with caring members of our community on important initiatives that improve the health and well-being of young people and their families, particularly in Southeast Michigan. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization located in Detroit, MI.
The Gift Processing and Donor Stewardship Associate is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of cash and non-cash charitable donations. This position processes donations according to donor designations, ensures database entries produce balanced gift batches and is responsible for preparing thank you letters and/or gift acknowledgments on all gifts processed, proofreading carefully for signature and mailing, in support of our stewardship goals. This positions also works in partnership with the supervisor to implement a donor information integrity plan that addresses how we keep donor information current; makes changes to donor profiles as identified and assists with data maintenance and hygiene; recommends to supervisor database modifications to support accurate recording and reporting; participates in system analysis of donor database and related software; understands and supports the data and reporting needs of the Donor Relations Team, and collaborates with other team members on data needs as requested or directed.
This position requires an Associate’s degree. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A successful candidate will be proficient in data entry and have experience with donor management software. Experience with Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge preferred. Qualified candidates will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent analytical and time management qualities, strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, and a professional demeanor. Candidates must also demonstrate the capability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, the ability to coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously, and successfully handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
