The Children’s Foundation of Michigan is pleased to welcome Phillip Wm. Fisher, founder of Mission Throttle and a nationally recognized leader in philanthropy and impact investing, to its Board of Trustees.
Fisher joins the Foundation at a fundamental time as it continues to grow charitable resources that improve children’s health today while building permanent sources of funding that will benefit Michigan families for generations. His decades of experience in strategic philanthropy, impact investing, and endowment development will help advance the Foundation’s mission of ensuring every child in Michigan has the opportunity to thrive.

As founder of Mission Throttle, Fisher has helped pioneer innovative approaches that combine philanthropy, human capital, and impact investing to create measurable community outcomes. Throughout his career, he has championed the idea that charitable capital can strengthen organizations and communities for the future in addition to solving today’s challenges.
His leadership spans both the private and philanthropic sectors. Fisher is Chair Emeritus of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation and Chair Emeritus of The Fisher Group. He has also served leadership roles with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and numerous organizations dedicated to strengthening communities, advancing early childhood development and expanding philanthropic impact.
