Hello and welcome to October.
As the Fall season gets well underway, The Children’s Foundation is certainly on the move.
Our Board of Trustees recently elected Luanne Thomas Ewald as the new Chair of our board. Luanne is an exceptional leader and will work closely with our previous Chair, Matt Friedman, during this planned and strategic transitional period. Matt will continue to be an active Trustee well into the future.
I look forward to working closely with Luanne as she provides her skills and talents as we continue our evolution as a community-based foundation for children and families.
In addition to the recent Chair announcement, we also had a busy week in September with Luanne and Matt on Mackinac Island at the 2021 Detroit Regional Chamber Policy Conference. Jill Nelson, director of Marketing & Communications, and I had several radio interviews as we continue to tell the story of not only The Foundation, but our more than 130 grantee partners who we support throughout the state.
Our colleagues Doug Ferrick, chief development officer, and David Lochner, chief financial officer, were also busy integrating with the crowd and continuing to position our Foundation in a positive place for partnerships and growth.
I also want to welcome several of our new team members to The Foundation. They are Erica Sanders, special events associate manager, Abbey Olszewski, social media specialist, and Olivia Bucciarelli, gift processing and donor stewardship associate.
