A letter from Larry – December 2021

Hello and happy holidays.

As we get ready to say goodbye to 2021 and hello to the New Year, I thought it would be important to look back on this year’s success.

I’d like to call 2021 the “year of the new.” We’ve had many new initiatives this year that I’d like to share with you:

  • – We have a NEW record amount of grant awards this year, totaling more than $7 million dollars which brings our total since 2011 to more than $75 million dollars!
  • – We have added 25 NEW grant partners, which means we now have a total of over 140 partners in Michigan, and beyond.
  • – We have three NEW Trustees that are now helping us spread our impact.
  • – We have NEW geographic areas where we are making an impact including Northwest Ohio and a new partner in Southern Florida helping those suffering from substance abuse disorder.
  • – We have added six NEW staff members to our team that are engaged with our donors, Trustees, and partners to ensure a bright financial future.
  • – We have two NEW affiliate members including DEYA and the Feinberg Hope Foundation.
  • – We have a NEW CEO of our First Tee-Greater Detroit in Matt Kjorstad, now leading the way with our 19 Board members.
  • – And, we have a NEW leader in Chairperson Luanne Ewald. Chairperson Ewald is poised to keep The Children’s Foundation on the move and growing its impact in helping children, adolescents, young adults, and families.

On behalf of the entire Children’s Foundation family, I would like to wish you and yours a healthy, safe, and prosperous New Year. We would love for you to continue to help us on our journey with an annual gift. You can click here to make your contribution.

Thank you, and as we like to say, ONWARD!
