Donor Spotlight: Singh Development’s annual golf outing builds community and raises funds for kids

By: Kari Radjewski, director of Marketing & Communications

At Singh Development, building communities isn’t just a business, it’s a legacy. For more than 50 years, Singh has developed, built, and managed real estate across Michigan, North Carolina, and Virgina—from vibrant multi-family properties and single-family homes to senior living communities, commercial real estate and golf courses. But their commitment to community goes far beyond bricks and mortar. It’s about investing in the people who live, work, and grow within those spaces.

For the past two years, Singh extended that commitment by naming the Children’s Foundation as a beneficiary of their 11th and 12th annual golf outings.

Hosted at their own Links of Novi golf course, the event brings together more than 230 players, sponsors, and volunteers. Nearly $34,000 has been raised between the two years—but it is more than a fundraiser. It is a celebration of community spirit.

From 18 holes of golf, exciting raffles, a hole-in-one contest with a new car up for grabs, a live cigar rolling experience, a DJ spinning great music, a delicious steak dinner, and so much more, this outing promises a full day of camaraderie, generosity, and unforgettable fun on the course.

“It takes a lot of work to put on an event like this,” says Christian Miller, director of Marketing. “But it doesn’t feel like work when you know you’re making a difference.”

Events like the Singh Golf Outing are a powerful example of how community-led fundraisers can drive meaningful change. They generate critical funds for young people, deepen engagement, and inspire others to act.

“As a company that builds and grows communities, it is our responsibility to uplift these communities,” Miller adds. “Philanthropy is an essential part of what we do.”

Singh’s annual golf outing is more than a tradition; it’s an expression of their values and a powerful way to help strengthen the very communities they’ve helped create.
