Hello, and welcome to October and the Fall season.
Fall season brings many fun activities to The Children’s Foundation, all which help raise funds for many of our ongoing initiatives and several new ones as well.
First, I would like to thank all of those that selected The Children’s Foundation/Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation for their Charity Preview donation. We are extremely grateful to the Detroit Auto Dealers Association for their ongoing generosity and commitment to children throughout the region. Thank you, Rod Alberts!
We also recently had a new event at the Detroit Athletic Club called Art of Healing that involved wonderful art made by children. The art was auctioned off and will be placed in the Fetal Care Unit at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. More than $30,000 was raised in just a few hours. We’re so very pleased with our new event and thankful to all of those that participated.
October also brings one of our favorite events of the year which is the Spirit Halloween stores raising funds for Child Life Services at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. This is a wonderful tradition and hopefully this year will continue building on great success. Get your Halloween costumes early – a 10% coupon is available to you here, and Spirit Halloween will generously donate 10% of your purchase back to us!
October also brings on the new season for our Pistons as well as Red Wings – both of which have partnerships with us this year. On December 1, our initiative, the Jamie Daniels Foundation will host Hot Stove Stories featuring Ken Daniels & Micky Redman. Tickets will be on sale soon, so stay tuned for more details.
Well, October is indeed a busy month and I want to thank everyone that is participating in our many different events and activities.
Onward!
