A letter from Larry – September 2021

Hello.

As summer comes to an end, I wanted to update you on a few exciting things involving The Children’s Foundation.

We had a very successful inaugural Ben Hogan Championship of Michigan supporting our initiative, First Tee-Greater Detroit, fundraising a net result of over $140,000. This impressive amount was made possible by our many sponsors and supporters!

Speaking of First Tee-Greater Detroit, we are off to a wonderful start in our first full season of activities. We currently are at eight different golf courses with 10 classes total, and at 35 schools within our communities. And, we’re just getting started!

I am also very proud to announce that The Children’s Foundation has been named the recipient of Central Michigan University Alumni Awards’ 2021 Foundation Partner Award. As a proud CMU alum, this is an indication that our growing partnership continues to impact students and faculty at the University. We are now providing support for the student recovery initiatives helping CMU students struggling with substance use disorder, along with our previous mental health support.

As September arrives, we’re getting ready for the annual Detroit Regional Chamber Policy Conference at Mackinac Island. Once again, we will be recording several noteworthy interviews for upcoming Caring for Kids radio shows. Be sure to tune in!

We clearly are On the Move in September and beyond.

Thanks for your continued support.

Onward!
