A letter from Larry – June 2021

Hello and welcome to June. June happens to be my favorite month of the year since warm weather has finally arrived, the days are long, and summer is just around the corner.

It is also a very busy and exciting time for The Children’s Foundation.

Just around the corner is the announcement of our second grant cycle for 2021. We are gearing up for several new partnerships throughout the state as well as renewing many of our partnerships that have been important to our evolution and growth. Stay tuned for those grants to be announced this month.

We are also very honored to be a national sponsor of a new golf tournament, THE JOHN SHIPPEN, at Detroit Golf Club later this month. This is an important event that fits into our strategic initiative to focus on inclusion, diversity, and equity. THE JOHN SHIPPEN tournament will bring together the finest amateur Black golfers in the country and also providing mentors and other guidance for youth throughout the community. Look for a CBS special on the Sunday of the Rocket Mortgage Classic prior to the final round of television coverage. We will also be posting social media updates related to that event in the coming weeks.

I want to welcome Chris Perry to our team. Chris has joined us as the first ever executive director of the Jamie Daniels Foundation. Chris comes from a wonderful marketing background in the automotive business as well as more recently working for the United Way in our great city of Detroit. Welcome Chris! You can learn more about Chris and this new role, here.

I hope everyone has a great month and please follow us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter!

Onward!
