A letter from Larry – April 2022

Larry promotes The Foundation’s Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Summit in 2019.

Hello and happy April. We are now truly getting into the spring months and more sunshine is in our future.

Speaking of sunshine, The Children’s Foundation continues to have a bright year in 2022.

This month we have our third annual Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Summit on Tuesday, April 12 at the Inn at St. John’s. We’re looking forward to a full house and best of all – we’re back in person. There are still a few tickets left, so grab yours while you can.

We recently had a big night in Grand Rapids with the Grand Rapids Gold who introduced a Children’s Foundation themed jersey and highlighted our important work with grant partners in West Michigan. Take a look at some photos from the night!

Our second round of grant proposals in 2022 are in full swing and undergoing review. Trustees will meet in June to award new grants to some current partners and several new organizations. Through these efforts, we continue our mission to impact the lives of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. That’s what it’s all about.

Also, on May 1, we’re going to have the first ever Jamie Daniels Foundation Comedy Night of Hope. This will be a fun-filled evening, with two shows all benefiting our affiliate foundation supporting substance-abuse recovery and prevention. For more information, click here.

Lastly, on May 7 we will host our Sixth Annual Derby for Kids taking place at the Country Club of Detroit. This festive event is full of great outfits, including hats, bow ties, and bright colors, but most importantly, it raises funds for youth struggling with mental health and substance use disorder. Tickets are still available for this event and proceeds will help establish an adolescent substance abuse clinic in partnership with University Pediatricians, Central Michigan University, Children’s Hospital of Michigan and, of course, The Children’s Foundation. Get your tickets, now.

As you can see, we continue to be on the move.

Thanks for all your support. I look forward to staying in touch.

Onward!
