A letter from Larry – February 2020

Greetings!

The Children’s Foundation is continuing down our path as a community-based foundation focused on health and wellness for children, young adults and families. For the past several years, we have experienced tremendous growth and evolution. As we’ve broadened our efforts in the community and broadened our geographical footprint – we now require more talents and distinct skill-sets to maintain our reputation as a Foundation On the Move!

new-employees

Since December 2019, we’ve welcomed several talented and knowledgeable employees who are helping us fulfill our mission. I am excited to introduce you to our newest Children’s Foundation team members:

Kees Groenwegen, Associate Director, Donor Relations

Kari Radjewski, Associate Director, Marketing & Communications

Laura DeLorme, Digital Marking & Communications Specialist

Mark Jones, Gift Processing Associate

We also recently announced the addition of two Trustees, Stacy Goldberg, MPH, RN, BSN, founder and CEO of Savorfull and Jocelyn Hagerman, founder of Skypoint Ventures and CEO of the Hagerman Foundation.

Goldberg is a nationally recognized nutrition consultant and industry leader in free-from healthy snacks with more than 20 years of experience as a nutrition consultant. She has been named the Official Health and Wellness Consultant/Nutritionist for the NBA Coaches Association. Goldberg’s experience will be of great value to The Foundation as nutritional health and wellness is one of five focus areas of the organization.

Hagerman’s work as a philanthropist and community leader in Genesee County will benefit the board as the Children’s Foundation continues to expand. The Hagerman Foundation has supported education, health and wellness for families amid the Flint water crisis. It also provided scholarships for the DevelopHer program, which works with Grand Circus as a coding bootcamp, and Girls Court.

New diverse backgrounds, ideas and points-of-view make The Children’s Foundation stronger and more well-rounded as we work to improve the well-being of children in our state. We are off to an incredible start this year and I am looking forward to the progress we make, together, in 2020. Thank you for your continued support!

Onward!
