Hello and welcome to our February update.
This month, in celebration of Black History Month, we are reflecting, honoring and highlighting the contributions of Black leaders who have played an important role in improving the conditions of our communities and the health and wellness of children and families who live in them. Follow along with us on Facebook for this interesting series.
The Children’s Foundation continues to be extremely active in all areas of our operations.
On the communication side, we are excited to start a new partnership with Entercom Communications that includes a radio series which will be called Pathways to Wellness. This will be an ongoing feature between different on-air personalities and myself, reviewing topics that will be all about wellness and pathways to success for children, young adults and families. This will be primarily on WWJ Newsradio 950 but also on over 50 radio stations across the state.
We’re also working on finalizing the arrangements for the 2021 Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Summit which will be a two day event in partnership with Crain’s Detroit business and their virtual platform. More information to come.
Another new partnership that I am extremely proud of is a partnership with The Ben Hogan Foundation based out of Fort Worth, Texas. Together, along with the new First Tee- Greater Detroit we will be hosting The Ben Hogan Championship of Michigan at the Detroit Golf Club on August 9. All proceeds benefiting the children served by First Tee-Great Detroit. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please contact Executive Director Mary Ann Lievois at [email protected].
We’re also getting ready for our next grant cycle as well as our Fifth Annual Derby for Kids event at the fabulous Country Club of Detroit. Stay tuned for more details about these and other exciting news from The Children’s Foundation.
As always, thank you for your support.
Onward!
