Hello, and welcome to November and the beginning of a very busy season not only for us, but our initiatives too.
I am excited to announce that the Third Annual Jamie Daniels Foundation Celebrity Roast will take place on Monday, November 22 at 8pm on Bally Sports Detroit. This year’s Roast will feature a cadre of special guests all roasting the NHL All-Star and former Detroit Red Wing, Brett Hull. There is also a wonderful virtual auction taking place. Best of all, it’s for wonderful cause, raising awareness and support for individuals and families suffering from substance abuse disorder.
I also want to officially welcome Matt Kjorstad as the new chief executive officer of our initiative, First Tee-Greater Detroit. Matt is relocating from the Minneapolis area where he has had a wonderful career working for many nonprofit organizations including a leadership position at the YMCA. We’re looking forward to some great leadership from Matt and his team which includes Heather Rupp and John Page.
We have a great deal going on at The Children’s Foundation and we’re hoping that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Over the holiday, I encourage you to visit Festival of Trees which is not only a wonderful event, but also benefits our initiative, The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, raising funds for important research that improves the health of children today and for years to come.
